Ataxic Neurodegenerative Satiety Deficiency Syndrome 2

Dr. Steven C. Schlozman is featured on a number of sites this week. The Zombie Research Society announced that he is to join the ZRS advisory board and lists his impressive credentials:

Dr. Schlozman is Co-Director of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Associate Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency for the MGH/McLean Program in Child Psychiatry, Staff Child Psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Lecturer in Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education.

His research into the problem of the living dead has led Dr. Schlozman to draft a “fake medical journal article on the zombie plague, which he calls Ataxic Neurodegenerative Satiety Deficiency Syndrome, or ANSD”.

io9 has a very comprehensive piece on ANSD and the forthcoming lecture that Dr. Schlozman will deliver for the Science on Screen series in Brookline, MA.

L4D2 E3 Trailer 0

The trailer for Left 4 Dead 2 looks like it will feature a departure from the heavy reliance on firearms in L4D. Not sure about how I’d feel about wielding a frying pan against a horde of infected, and how they can prevent strong melee attacks from thwarting most hunter attacks -- if they have hunters. Chainsaws and baseball bats may seem a cool option in theory, but I don’t think they’d be my weapons of choice in the zombie apocalypse. I do like the Jazz Festival background, even if it is a little colourful compared to L4D.

Lifeless to air soon 0

We’ve been waiting for Lifeless for a while now, ever since the trailer appeared last year:

Now, Quiet Earth reports that the TV series has a distribution deal and may be airing soon.

If the show lives up to the clips on the site, then it should be well worth watching.

Also looking forward to seeing if all the hype around Colin is justified. The low budget has impressed everyone, but the great reviews coming in suggest that the film has more going for it than just its indie credentials:
